How We Are Made
1. Clay is pressed into two halves of a mould and joined together. Each mould is unique, made from a one-off original.
2. The basic form is removed from the mould.
3. The basic form is smoothed down.
7. The glazed birds are fired a second time to stoneware 1260C
6. Birds are dipped in glaze and each hand painted
5. Once birds are fully dried they are biscuit fired to 1000C
4. Tail, wings & beak are made and joined to the body making each bird unique.
